Da Program.

Da Program. Okay here it is. I'm going to try and simplify the program in categories of diet and exercises. Okay me and Dennis decided to do this program for many different reasons but I think we both wanted the same results in the end. That is we wanted to shed the fat we have accumulated for the past several years of inactivity. To be healthy just in general. Maybe a little bit of narcism. Hahaha. You know you wanna look good too. Okay here is the diet: it's simple and just common sense, you have to burn more calories than you eat. Simple right? Hahaha. Best guideline for this is to follow the 2000 caloric intake suggested by the American Heart Association. The key to a successful diet is variety. Don't omit anything but moderate everything. Any extremes will rob you of essential nutrients. Don't be stupid about it either, you know what's good vs bad, so don't place yourself in the category of he said I can eat anything in moderation. Yeah-yeah, I knowit's really easy to give yourself excuses but let's be honest with ourselves and don't cheat yourself from getting the results. Hey if I get enough positive feedback on this I can possibly give a more indepth picture about different meals to put together. Here are just a few tips for your diet: decrease sugars (sodas, juices made from concentrates, I guess pretty much what we call sweet treats), simple carbs (starches - what I call the white family - rice, potatoes, and white breads), and the bad fats (I really don't think I have to go too much into details with this one). The most important thing to do is increase your lean protien intake (chicken breasts, fish, lean cuts of beef, and if needed protien shakes). Your carbs should come mainly from fruits and veggies instead of starches. And if you are going to eat carbs try to eat the brown ones (whole grains). Here is my secret on staying on the straight and narrow; allow yourself one day of havingwhatever you want (a cheat day). Try to more smaller frequent meals rather than the 3 large traditional meals. This will actually trigger your metabolism to burn faster and more efficiently. Oh and also try not to eat past 8pm and if you get a craving grab a fruit or some veggies. Okay I think these are some good starting points and as I said if I get enough positive feedback I can definitly go into further details. Da Program. Here it is. As I've mentioned this program will in da minimum could be accomplished appropriately in 4 months or more efficiently in 6 months. And I selected to opt for the latter. Just because we have time and just the way our schedule works, having to work night shifts. One key ingredient in getting the most results out of the workout is sleep/rest. And that luxury is scares with our work and family schedules. In the 6 months I broke it down in 4 phases: Phase 1 is the initial phase which works on edurance, strength, and conditining - this is probably the most crucial as it will determine the success of your program, the more you put in this phase the more results you will have in the end). Phase 2 is strength conditioning (heavy, heavy, heavy - pyramids). Phase 3 is endurance/stamina (calisthenics - what they call the prison workout). Final phase is muscle rebuild (form, form, form with heavy weights). Not bad at all right? I didn't reallygo into too much detail cause as I've said I need a lot of positive feedback before I can give you the secrets. This is just a taste. Stay tuned.

Can I please just get a damn gym membership...

Can I please just get a damn gym membership... Well with working out me and Dennis needed a gym to get started. One important thing in cosidering a gym, study shows that a gym futher than 5 minutes in travel time will drastically decrease your likelihood of going. So keep that in mind boys and girls. Funny, I had it all figured out as to which gym would be most conducive with both our location. It works out way better for me, didn't plan on it that way but I picked a gym(don't know if I can name it or not) that was most conducive to our commute from working our night shifts. A gym that was enroute so there would be minimal time wasted. Well we decided to just check it out and see what they had to offer. So we walk in the door and just see if we could just walk around and tour the facility ourselves. Nope. I guess for all those who have visited a gym know what I'm talkin about. Well as soon as we ask to tour the facility, come the vultures. Okay Mrsalesperson, please give us your song and dance. The gym was right. It had all the bells and whistles needed for "da program." It had me at hello. Now let's see what the monthly is going to be. I know the market is crap so we got to work out some kind of deal here. Need discount, yes. Well let's see what we can get out in he shortest amount of time. I don't know about u guys but I hate, hate, hate just the thought of haggling with a sales person. So joe smoe has just given us his song and dance routine. Don't really care except for what he can offer me in discount. So pulls out a laminated sheet to show us the deals and comparisons. Okay. We counter with, hey man were murses(male nurses) we work for so and so. Right?.. So he pulls out another laminated sheet of info. "Okay guys I can get you guys on the corporate rate." Yeahhhh. Now were talking. This guy was cool. Hmmmm? Alright it looks good. Ready to fill out some paperwork and get this thingrolling. Oh wait, oops forgot got to ask the wifey first. This was in the bag mind you. It's all logistics. So we told Mr salesguy, ok here is our info(credit card#). And in good faith don't charge me until I give you the clear. And that should be tomorrow. "Okay guys you have my word." Hahaha. And the fun begins. That evening Me and the wifey go to the supermarket and do some grocery shopping thinking that my balance on my debit card was fine. Finished swiping my card, big surprise. What do you mean there is not enough funds in my account? I just checked my balance this morning."That can't be right, try it again please." Nope. Hahaha, and wifey did not bring her purse so we are shit out of luck. Embarassing to say the least. Okay I am just livid and puzzled. Where the hell did my money go? I get home, I immediately go online track where my f'n money went. Aha! That mothaf'r. They(da gym) just charged me. Oh shit it's on. Damn it, I have to work. Settlethis after. So I tell Dennis the situation. And he finds out that it has happened to him as well. So we are just both angry with this transaction. We just want to join but they f'd up so we wanted what we could milk out of this situation. So we get there and put on our pissed off look. So Mr salesperson, what da f happened? He immediately takes us to his office for privacy. Or just to try to keep the situation on da hush hush. Okay, so what are you going to do for me. I looked pissed. I don't think Dennis thought I was going to react the way I did. So we just played off each other and negotiation are underway. We had this guy dancing like a monkey. Man he was sweating. Trying to make calls and doing whatever to please us. He looks like he's going to cry. We tried to milk it for everything we could. Hahaha we almost got too greedy. Cause we really just wanted to join. I think Dennis at one point thought we were gonna have to go somewhere else. Sonegotiations over. Woohoo...(so we thought, but that's another story) Time to get my sexy back.

Thanx everyone...

Hi everyone, thanks for even taking the time to even get this far. But I hope that I will be able to give you some info to motivate, inspire, or just even entertain. This is my first blog, so please forgive me if anything is long winded or just don't make sense. I'm also not the best writer, I write like I speak, ignant at times. As you already witnessed. Anyways this is my story as to how I got my "sexy back." Hahaha. Sorry I just had to laugh at myself. Please also don't take me too seriously on somethings. For those who know me, I'm just a big kid whose always clownin. So I do hope you give me the benefit of the doubt and continue following me through my journey as I get my "sexy back."

I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. I am 32yr old male. Married to the most wonderful woman in the world for 7yrs and we have two little boys 4yrs and 7 mos. I'm an RN at this time in the pediatric ICU at a major childrens hospital. But my wife calls me a Jack of all Trade and Master of None. I have dabbled into many different careers. And I can say that I have found success in most of them but have not comepletely found da one. Well I guess I should go into the fitness aspect of my life since this is what this blog is going to be about. I guess it all kind of started when I first started college. First and for most I should thank the one person that got me started and show me a lot of what I know now. Thanx Joey. When I got to college I was 135lbs soaking wet. I was a freakin bean pole. I am 5'11" as you can imagine that paints a pretty interestin picture. I fell in-love with fitness. So it was inevitable for me to go ahead become a personnal trainer. I was always interested in working out but as everyone knows life throws you a lot of different things into the mix that makes it somewhat difficult to keep up with fitness. Well that's my excuse anyways. Hehehe. So there you go that is just a little insight to my wonderful life.

"Getting My Sexy Back"

Getting my sexy Back.... My story. WOW... Amazing how getting older, lack of exercise, stress, messed up sleeping/working pattern, and children can really make your body get all distorted (fat). Hahaha... Metabolism slows down, body perception distorted (I'm not as fat as my friends who are married and have kids), lack of motivation to get to the gym (more like null), unhealthy eating (excessive). Just a few excuses to name. Looking in da mirror isn't fun anymore, no sir. Is that one of those carnival mirrors, nope it's just my fat ass. Something had to change. My body definitely was not what it use to be. I didn't think it would happen to me. Me "da Body Capati." LOL. That was the glory days of college and being young. Years later of working a messed up schedule meaning irregularity of 12hrs of days and nights. Flip floppin back and forth. Eating the worst foods and a lot of it. Oh sweet Mickey D's, those damn oh so tasty, hot, crispy golden fried sticks of goodness. Damn U... Why does that 1/4 lb of mashed together, brown, unrecognizable so called meat taste so delicious and satisfying. Anyways, it was all adding up and definitely taking it's toll on my body, mind and spirit. Hahaha, clothes are definitely not fitting right. Mediums are definitely looking extra small. "Fat guy in a little coat." Having trouble buttoning my damn pants. Need an extra hole in my belts maybe a size or two up, even better a belt with an adjustable buckle. Is that ghetto boottie? Hehehe. On a serious note though, I wasn't the same. I was always sleepy, lethargic even. Health and mental wise I was prone to having these unexplainable chest pain and hypertension. Worst of all my anxiety hightened it, knowing my father's cardiac history (quadruple by-pass). This was definitely the absolute turning point. I couldn't keep having these anxiety attacks and severe chest pains. On a spiritual aspect I was definitely not one with my emotions. Normally I'm the one with all the jokes, mellow guy and all I realize is that I'm just short, period. I'm just plain pissy about something and I don't f'n know about what. Hmmmmm? The person who took the grunt of it was my poor beloved wife, "sorry honey." And most importantly, I surely wanted to be here for my boys and gorgious wife (for goodness sake she had two babies and still wearing 0-2). I knew what to do, I was a personal trainer in college (a gym rat). I mean I had groupies, my wife called them MGB's (Melvin Groupie Bitches). Hahaha. Man, I know how to get results. It's just doing it and doing at the state I'm in is the real challenge. I mean college I had everything going for me; hyper metabolism (eating whatever I want, whenever, and a who lot of it), the flexible schedule (class?, what's that), worked (lived) at the gym, and youth. The magical combination of making one lean beefcake. A lot of talking and no doing initially until I found some pictures of the glory days. Wow, I looked like that (damn I am fine... Hahaha), how did I get this way (FATTY want a doughnut). Disgusted and yet amazed. I had to make changes - a lot of changes! A lot happened in my career that made it possible. I got a new job that gave me the hours of regularity and finacial stability. Time and money, ah what a winning combination. This definitely made things very possible and a big added plus was my boy Dennis, someone in the same exact predicament. It was just natural everything was coming together. We had to do this. I had the program and he gave me the the "workout buddy." It makes it easier for me to workout when I have a deciple. I wanted to show him that it is possible to achieve these things you see on tv (a lot of bullshit and false hope out there that's being sold). So it's not as easy as they make it. No bullshittin but my program, I get the results. But it's going to take a lot of work and dedication. And it's not going to happen over night, but 16-24 weeks or 4-6 months of hard work and a healthy diet. No blood but plenty of sweat and maybe some tears. Hahaha. It's going to take a whole lot of perceiverance to get through this program, but the end result will say it all.
